In the Golden Series, in my head I begin by playing with words as a point of departure, allowing language to trigger visual narratives. The works evolve through a surrealistic approach, where iconic figures and familiar aesthetics are sampled, reassembled, and gently distorted. Humour and lightness run throughout the series, acting as subtle entry points into deeper layers of meaning. Gold is the dominant colour in this body of work, a material and symbolic choice that evokes value and timelessness. By using gold as both a visual anchor and a conceptual tool, the series explores contrasts between the sacred and the playful. The iconic inviting viewers to reconsider the symbols they think they already know.
