Born in Ottignies, Belgium. Colin was brought up within a classical music environment.
His mother was a piano and history of art teacher. Music has always been around him as he grew up.  His artistic development started in his early teens when he began studying the clarinet.
Aged 15, he started learning the guitar himself and as he progressed, Colin started writing his first ideas of compositions. In the late nineties, he moved to Manchester to study Sound Engineering at Salford University and since then has been involved with many bands as a Performer, Sound Engineer and a blossoming Music Producer. In the noughties, he formed a metal band called Cypher with whom he played rhythm guitar. He produced their first E.P, which was reviewed "demo of the month" in both critically acclaimed Metal Hammer Magazine and Kerrang Magazine.
His love for the stage and composition was sparked whilst working as a Sound Engineer for various theatres and concert halls. He got to work for the Salzburg Festival in Austria with American avant-garde Theatre Director Robert Wilson (best known for his collaboration with Philip Glass on "Einstein on the Beach") and with Belgian Composer/Film Director Thierry de Mey.

This later album demonstrated more of his Singer-Songwriter, Folk, Americana composition affinities. Following his studies at Salford, he graduated with a Master of Arts by research at the University of Huddersfield in 2013 with a thesis entitled "Composing for Instruments and Electronics". As part of his Masters Degree, he Released his first Astempola Album. In 2015, Colin released his second Maxwell Watts album entitled "Colin & Ché" and later on released various singles from his third Maxwell Watts Album.
