A few months ago, I realised that I was spending way too much time in front of my computer. As I was drifting away, I got caught in the huge wide internet web.
My intentions at first was to get some work done and to program some electronic music for my first "Can Guru?" Album, but I soon realised that I didn't enjoy sitting in front of my computer screen for too long. The distractions of social media platforms such as Facebook stopped me from being creative. I realised that it was sucking all my energy out of me!
I found myself checking what Mr X and Mrs Y where up to on a daily basis and this gradually made me feel powerless, unproductive and eventually really depressed!
Something had to be done to get my creative juices flowing again!
As I was having phone conversations with my mother, she often reminded me of my abilities to produce graphic art and advised me to start painting again.
I noticed that I hadn't been painting or drawing seriously for a while!
So I decided to get back into painting and get my hands dirty again!
I bought myself some canvases, oils, drawing pads, pencils and started painting!
To my great surprise I absolutely loved every moment of it!
Now I was away from my computer and my head was full of ideas that I was going to transfer into original artworks.
I am extremely happy to have found my creative flows again and realise that by getting my mind working on graphic art instead of just music, it also subconsciously motivates me and keeps me being productive musically as I am currently working on my third Maxwell Watts Album.
I highly recommend working with graphic art and colours especially to anyone that seeks new avenues for inspiration!
Here is the first large sized painting I did, as well as a link to other art I finished so far and the last painting I am currently working on. Guess who that is?! :p
